A. Simon Pickard, PhD:Dr. Pickard received his BComm, BScPharm and Ph.D. in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences
from the University of Alberta.His research interests include methodological
issues in the assessment of health outcomes, pharmacoepidemiology, measurement
of health-related quality of life, and economic evaluations of health care
interventions.He is Associate Professor
at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Assistant Director at the UIC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research.Dr. Pickard is a member of the EuroQol group,
developers of the EQ-5D - a leading measure of health, and currently serves as Chair of the Executive Committee.He
is also past president of the Chicago regional chapter of the International
Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research.
Glen T. Schumock, PharmD, MBA, PhD: Dr. Schumock received his PharmD from the University of Washington, and MBA and Ph.D. (Epidemiology) from the University of Illinois.Dr. Schumock is Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He conducts research in pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, and health services evaluation.Dr. Schumock has authored or co-authored over 200 publications and is the 2014 recipient of the award for Sustained Contribution to the Literature from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Foundation.
Surrey M. Walton, PhD: Dr. Walton received his Ph.D. in
Economics from the University of Chicago in 1997, where he specialized in
health and labor economics. He is an
Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy in the College
of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and is also a core
faculty member of the UIC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research. Dr. Walton is also former Director of the
Midwest Center for Health Workforce Studies.
He has led numerous research projects in health services evaluation,
comparative effectiveness, and cost of illness research, and has expertise in
quantitative analyses of large databases as well as in decision analytic
modeling. Dr. Walton has published
extensively in these areas in peer reviewed journals and has presented in a variety of national and international conferences.
Todd Lee, Pharm.D., Ph.D.: Dr. Lee earned his PharmD
from Drake University and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research from the
Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program at the University of
Washington. Dr. Lee is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy in the College of Pharmacy at the
University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).Dr. Lee also has appointments in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical
Care, Allergy and Sleep in the College of Medicine and the Division of
Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at UIC.His
research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics and the
intersection of the two disciplines.
The partners have authored or coauthored over 500 peer-reviewed publications in journals that include Medical Care, NEJM, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, PharmacoEconomics, Pharmacotherapy, Quality of Life Research, JMCP and many clinically-based journals.
